Cover People is seeking Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Tameside on a flexible and ad-hoc basis. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for students.
This role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with children or young people in an educational or mentoring setting and have a good understanding of the UK curriculum. Strong communication skills, the ability to build rapport with students and staff, and a proactive and positive attitude towards work are essential for success in this role. The flexibility to work in different schools and settings, as well as the ability to work independently and manage a classroom effectively, are also key attributes we are looking for in candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Following the lesson plans set by the teacher
- Managing behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
- Engaging students in their learning and supporting their progress
- Supporting the school's ethos and values
- Providing feedback to the regular teacher on student progress
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum and education system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different schools and settings
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- A proactive and positive attitude towards work
