English Teacher - Stockport

Cover People are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified English Teacher to teach from KS3 to KS4 for a long-term supply position in a main secondary schools in the Stockport area.

The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring English Teacher to join our dedicated English Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across KS3, KS4,  nurturing students passion for English and developing their reading, writing, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking English lessons that cater to the needs of all learners.
  • Support students academic progress through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to inspire a love for literature and language.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental resources and schemes of work.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting high expectations for all students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives.
  • Encourage students to develop their critical thinking, analytical, and expressive skills.

What Were Looking For:
  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in English or a related subject.
  • A passion for teaching English and inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A collaborative and reflective approach to teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
