Job Title: Secondary School Counsellor
Location: Bahrain
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Secondary School Counsellor to join a dedicated team at an international school in Bahrain. The school follows the American curriculum and is committed to supporting the emotional and academic success of their students. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in both emotional and university counselling, and a prooactive approach to identifying and addressing student issues with a focus on positive outcomes. The start date for this role will be August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counselling to support the emotional well-being of secondary school students.
Assist students with academic planning and university applications, including guidance on course selection, college essays, and application processes.
Develop and implement programs to promote mental health awareness and resilience among students.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and create a supportive school environment.
Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of student information.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Relevant degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
Certification in school counselling or equivalent.
Recognised teaching qualification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on emotional and university counselling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.
