The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students with a variety of learning needs across the curriculum. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis to ensure they access the full curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Providing pastoral care and promoting positive behavior in line with school policies.
  • Supporting students with physical and/or emotional needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborating with class teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet students’ needs.
  • Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

About You:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting but not essential if you have the right experience.
  • A positive, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the values of inclusion, equality, and diversity.
  • An attitude of hard work and willingness to hit the ground running within the school.
