Location: Primary Schools in Salford and Central Manchester
Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated youth worker looking to transition into the educational sector? Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in primary schools in Salford and Central Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with primary-aged children who have SEMH needs, providing both emotional and educational support.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans, ensuring students are supported throughout their educational journey.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and creating a safe, inclusive environment where children can thrive.
  • Support individual and small group interventions, promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and other staff members.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a youth worker, mentor, or in a similar role supporting young people, especially those with SEMH or additional needs.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them overcome personal challenges.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A desire to learn and develop within the educational sector, with potential training and professional development opportunities available.
